Lately I have noticed that within about 30 minutes of taking it, I’ll get a headache. Not a horrible one… maybe a 3 on a scale of one to ten, but bad enough to be annoying.
Is it just my imagination or coincidence?
Has anyone else had their vitamins give them a headache?
Yes it does.
Some days I’ll get headaches, some days I’ll feel sick.
I try to take the pill right after I eat a meal, and a few minutes after I’ll munch on a snack. That way I feel much better.
I always have to bite it in half, it’s easier to take it down that way. I gulped down at least 16 oz of water, so it’s best to take it a few hours before bed time. I hate having to get up all the time to pee when I’m trying to sleep.
Does anyone else, who is not pregnant and taking prenatal vitamins, get headaches from them?
I have had two kids and then had a tubal ligation. I recently decided to try to eat better and take vitamins for more energy. I have problems with headaches, I have since I was a little girl. I decided to take prenatal vitamins because I felt really great when I took them when I was pregnant. I started taking them about a week ago and I had a terrible headache the entire time I took them. Decided not to take them for a couple days and didn’t have a headache during those two days. My husband said I should give it another try to make sure it just wasn’t a fluke thing. I took another one last night and when I woke up today guess what… the headache is back. Just wondering if anyone else gets headaches from prenatal vitamins? I’m not sure what to do, should I keep taking them and wait to see if the headaches eventually stop or is it possible I’m getting too much of something and causing the headaches by taking them???
Absolutely – If I take prenatal vitamins or any vitamins for that matter that are adult, I get bad headaches and I guess that is from the fact that I am a small person and that the vitamin has too much in it for my body to absorb and use properly. When you were pregnant and taking them – you had to divide that vitamin up with two people – you and the baby and that’s why you didn’t get headaches – your body was giving some to the baby and your body wasn’t getting all of it – but now you are getting all the vitamin – I have a suggestion – I take Flintstones vitamins. My doctor said that it was just fine to take that as an adult – as long as I was taking something that gave me nutrition – it didn’t matter – try Flintstones – I bet you don’t get headaches then!!
Prenatal Vitamin called Primacare One?
Anyone else on these?
Have they agreed with you, or did you have to switch to a different one?
So Far so good for me, unless thats whats causing my headaches?
I was prescribed the same prenatal with my son. I did have headaches in the beginning, like the first two weeks but they went away. I thought it was because my body was not used to the influx of vitamins. I was fine after I got used to them and I had a very healthy baby boy 2 months ago. I’m actually still taking them since I’m breastfeeding.
I’m 13 weeks pregnant and I’ve had a headache for a month. Can this be normal? Is it the prenatal vitamins?
I mentioned it to my doctor, and he was unconcerned. (He just said to take Tylenol.) But I was out of town last weekend and I forgot my vitamins. For the first time in weeks, my head stopped throbbing!
Was it a coincidence?
No headaches during pregnancy are caused by the hormones and increased blood volume that occurr during pregnancy. Headaches are quite normal and common. I know it stinks but they usually get better as you enter the second trimester.
I am trying to conceive, is my prenatal vitamin what is giving me headaches?
Me and my fiancee tried getting pregnant for almost a year and a half with no success. I have recently started watching my diet and I began taking Prenatal vitamins a week ago. I have a headache every day and I get sick on occasion. Is it from the vitamins? Thanks in advance!
Have any of you ever had your prenatal vitamin give you a headache?
I am 15 weeks pregnant and am taking Prenate DHA. (You can read about it here http://www.horizonpharm.w1.com/prenate/prenateDHA/index.html )
